Description As you can probably tell, I struggled with the perspective in this.
This was done from a toy knight I have, so technically it's a still life. The knight is about 3 inches tall, making this painting quite a challenge.
Also, I realise the knight is in tourney armour. I just decided a forest would make a better background than a busy tourney ground.

OMG! Even though the toy was only 3 inches tall, you've still done a really good job with the shading! well done!

Thanks! I do really enjoy painting metals (other than gold...) as it's fun trying to figure out where reflections should appear.

I have the hardest time deciding light sources... let alone HOW the light source should be portrayed lmao

I'm still practicing though!

Lmao is gold hard to paint or?

Haha I cheat! Lights are always coming from foreground top right and there's usually a strong back left light source to provide edge illumination which helps define objects. I don't think I could do a picture from my imagination with the light source on the fore left.
Also, I find copying other artists or photos is the best practice. Otherwise I get into bad habits.

Ugh yeah, I hate gold. I can never get it right. It's got a strange way of reflecting light and objects. I wish knights didn't insist on having so much bling.

LMAO bling. But that's helpful tips on light sourcing, thank you! ;o;

Hm well perhaps ye olde bling is more correct.

You're most welcome.
