Thanks! I do really enjoy painting metals (other than gold...) as it's fun trying to figure out where reflections should appear.

I have the hardest time deciding light sources... let alone HOW the light source should be portrayed lmao

Haha I cheat! Lights are always coming from foreground top right and there's usually a strong back left light source to provide edge illumination which helps define objects. I don't think I could do a picture from my imagination with the light source on the fore left.
Also, I find copying other artists or photos is the best practice. Otherwise I get into bad habits.
Ugh yeah, I hate gold. I can never get it right. It's got a strange way of reflecting light and objects. I wish knights didn't insist on having so much bling.
