Acrylic & oil on cancas, 100x100 cm
This painting is inspired by a line in a poem written by the Austrian poet Christine Lavant. I had a go at an english translation:
"Only the little golden bunting in spring
never breaks up from the longing.
Intimately she sings her sweet sorrow,
until the tones brightly burst in flames
and the heart is silenced forever."
German original:
"Nur die kleine goldne Frühlingsammer
lässt sich niemals von der Sensucht trennen.
Innig singt sie ihren süßen Jammer,
bis die Töne strahlend mitverbrennen
und das Herz für immer schweigt.
