I disagree with SrCl and Randomonium. The green on the face is fine, provides plenty of contrast, visually pleasing, etc., but I find that the dark red speckles on the face make it kind of hard to pick out the eyes and generally obscure the design.
Also, I don't really like the underbite thing she's got going there, but if that's your style, then more power to ya'.

I didn't really see much of an underbite compared to most of my other pictures. It's probably become a habit now, haha.
The freckles act as a balancer for the full body, and it'll make sense once the whole picture's done. ^ ^

The creature itself is actually the result of a Salamander clinging to a rose during the calamity. The 2 were merged accordingly.

So it was based of a Salamander? I don't know if its just me, but almost every dragon you make seems to be "altered" from their previous form. I'm not saying thats a bad thing, no way. Just seems its a, um...how do you say it, coincidence that the living creature was doing something. But still reminds me of a rose, for some reason.

Every single dragon I've done morphed into its current form either by natural mutation due to the cataclysm, or, in the case of alot of "Strange" ones like rosal, were doing something really specific when they changed.

Then how can a plant and the creature "mutate" into what it is now? I get the whole cataclysm thing, but if its just the creatures and land that changed, then what has happend to some of the fruit that they love so dear?

Plants, Ground, People. and animals, no matter what it was, all changed accordingly.
Consider it "Terra forming"

Terra-forming is when only the land changes. If theres anything involving animals and such, its consider "Evolution"

Then consider it Terra forming with hastened evolution.
Essentially the Cataclysm seeded specific elements into specific places. This forced any and all creatures to rapidly evolve, or mutate into their current forms using their own life energy as the catalyst. In the event 2 things touched, such as the rose and the salamander, their life energies were merged, and they grew together accordingly.

Now your not making sense to me...if the cataclysm made two things to mutate into each other, then how did it become to be a dragon?

I like the design. And the color scheme works pretty well, but I have to agree with Strontium-Chloride that she's a little too saturated. The green should definitely be toned down a little, but other than that she looks pretty awesome.

The green turns to red slowly as it goes toward the tail, which really helps the ending contrast. Unfortunately, I haven't finished the whole body yet.

Hmm... I guess that works. From just looking at the head, though, I really do think the green needs to be a little less prominent. Nothing drastic; the slightly darker green on the tip of her ear would do nicely I think, and help the red stand out better. But I'll shut up now and wait to see the full body before I say anything else.

The green skin could be toned down a bit, it's quite a saturated dragon
but I like the flower-y things

It's a plant, lol.
Luckily the green slowly turns to dark red as it gets closer to the tail.
