[edit 16 june 05] touched up coat, redid some of the waterish effects (not that anyone will be able to tell the difference) and tried to reshape the umbrella, although it still remain the Frankenstinian monster of all wet weather gear. And larger image size-- tell me if it's annoying or obnoxious in anyway (not that anyone full views anymore!

the background used to be storm clouds, but then it turned into some sort of... explosion thing. yeah. so it's not actually raining, i just felt like drawing the ground like that. (i know i'm making lame excuses) and the composition turned out really bad >_<; I just can't draw.
Inspired by 220 something ch of the manga. I didn't think umbrella swords could be that cool *_* (of course, i drew a really girly umbrella, but i kind of didn't want to cover up so much of the sky i worked a long time on)

Somber...very somber but the slight color adds to the mood.

The face looks really good, and I like how the reflection in the water looks so real! I like the background too.. and the composition looks good too, because he's off to the side a little (I think you're being a little hard on yourself *hugs*)
The only thing I see is what *Hey-Poo-Guy pointed out about the coat looking fuzzier than the rest.. but that's about it.
I've always wanted a clear umbrella..

We ended up buying a lot of those clear umbrellas in Japan because they kept breaking^^: I thought they were pretty, though.

Hey don't be so down, the composition looks really really good and the explosiony stuff in the background almost appears as rain drops bouncing off the umbrella.
This could easily pass for a sellable print as it!
