Fanart for one of my favorite Digimon movies! Hurricane Touchdown still makes me cry. I see people rag on it a lot for being more slow-burn and somber, but I have a lot of love for this movie and I still remember how I felt watching the original subbed version for the first time.The concept for piece goes back a long time! To around 2013 I think? But it never got further than a very rough concept scribble. More recently though (sometime last year now) I rediscovered the concept and I'm very pleased that my skills improved to the point I was able to finally draw this out as I envisioned years ago
Anyways! Enough of me being a sentimental fool, I hope you guys like this piece! It's not quite "new" but it's one I still like a lot!

love the digimon movie (though i hear the dub is MUCH different than the sub)

The dub was very different. I enjoy the dubbed versions of the first two movies, but trying to force Hurricane Touchdown into Digimon: The Movie was a bad idea. They cut a lot of the movie and crammed a lot of the typical dub humor into it which changed the tone a lot. I'm not a big fan of the Hurricane Touchdown dub for this reason, haha ^^;
The sub is a lot more somber in tone and very slow-burn. Has a very different feel to the dub version, which I personally preferred due to how emotional it ended up being.
Oh well! At least we have both versions so people can take their pick of which they prefer ^^

Hurricane Touchdown is the original name of this segment from the Digimon: The Movie dub (or well. part of the name. the full title is Very Long).
But yeah! That was the point I was getting at by the end haha
