Just for you.... A story of them cuddling!
It HAD been an exhausting night, Dick though, but he still had to bite down a smile before Damian saw it. The poor boy was exhausted, Bat-Night was a night of hours of activity and the kid had tuckered himself out like a light bulb. Dick stood there, leaning against one of the panels on the left, as he thought of what to do. Alfred had left his mark, a warm blanket had been draped over the boy's shoulders, but that position just had to be very uncomfortable.
'What the hell,' even if Damian woke up to bite his head off, Dick wasn't willing to leave him in the cold darkness of the cave. With ease born of long practice (you'd think he rescued belligerent kids on a daily basis), he picked Damian up like the kittens the boy held so dear. Something instinctive made Damian climb a little higher on Dick's shoulder and the recently demoted Nightwing felt his heart melt into a useless puddle of goo.
Cradling the boy closely, carefully, he made his way up the stairs toward the entrance of the mansion. Once upstairs, he crossed various hallways and two more staircases, making a beeline for Damian's quarters. His original intention had been to drop Damian in his bed, but the boy proved to be obstinate.
He wasn't letting go.
"Damn," he swore in whispers and though quickly. The bed wasn't big enough for both of them...
Damian's boot was falling off. When did he have time to loosen it? Before it dropped soundly, Dick caught it, but the jostling woke Damian up.
"Grayson? Let me go, what are you doing?" he demanded, but the sleepiness in his voice cancelled all of his bravado.
"Go back to sleep, Damian," he ordered firmly and to his surprise... Damian did.
But he still wasn't letting go.
'What the hell,' he thought flippantly, and sat down gently on the bed, carefully setting both himself and his charge down. His feet hung off of the edge of the bed, but it was a comfortable fit. Dick fell asleep in seconds, Damian ensconced in his arms.
Damian cracked one eye open and smiled.
