Description Cone 6

Another large latte mug. I liked how this one came out. I'm going to try and reproduce it, but since it initially stuck to the bisquet, I've started making little glaze catchers for it, like they do with crystalline glazes.

P.S. Yeah, I've been doing a lot of functional lately. What can I say, functional sells and then I get to play with glazes. LIke this guy. ^_^

looks awesome, the only thing I would say to do is define the foot of the piece a little more. Look at some professional pieces to see how they pull it off. If done right it can really help keep the glaze from running too far down.

You can do some really cool effects like this at cone 10 too

you ever try the scribe trick to keep the glaze from flowing too far?

Which is the "scribe" trick? I've put a groove around the bottom if that's what you mean? and I flair out the edges?

I love the look of your glazes. I just cant replicate that in lowfire. ;_;

I need me a gas kiln.

Actually, its ∆6 electric. Most of my glazes are ∆6.

... Ok, so with the price of gas going up, how many potters do you think will be looking for a viable alternative to gas for their kilns?

My kiln doesn't go much past 03... I don't /think/...

unless they're thinkin' of baking their pots with volcanoes or mirrors likely they'll feel the hit too: a lot of our 'lectricity comes from diesel anyway.

Hmmmnnnn... that would be a lot of fun. *imagines winching down a shelf full of ceramics into a volcano for a few hours*
