May I ask? Why do you use such high ISO?

I am a natural light photographer. I usually do not use Speedlights, built-in flashes or secondary light sources, only whatever sunlight I can capture. For this particular image, I wanted a lot of detail, so I raised my aperture to a whopping f/9. To make up for my lost light by raising my aperture and the lack of light without a lamp or flash, I increased my ISO. After some test shots of lower ISOs, I finally settled at 3200. A lower ISO may have been alright, but I have been manually setting my camera for less than a year and am still improving my sense for it.

Were you concerned at all at any point that setting your ISO at 3200, you were subject for compromising the quality of your final image? Although I must say I don't see the "noises" here, great job! Also great set-up.

f/9 is okay, when I shoot waterway images, I generally set my f stop at 11, so you are go to go...

Not particularly, because I have found that my camera's noise is usually most prominent around 5000 and 6400, which is seldom necessary. I need to experiment with my settings a bit more to get it just right. As they always say, "Practice makes perfect!" Thank you for your very kind words and thoughtful advice! I'll be sure to try f/11 next time I'm shooting still life with a need for detail.

I love what I have read up about you thus far! Keep up the great passion, it will take you everywhere in life.

It is quite refreshing to be to talk about f stop and such (not having to explain what it is) with someone as young as you are. I don't know you, but I have a great feelings that you WILL go far in life.

My daughter works for one of the largest gaming companies as an art director as well as programmer! She works very hard, too hard sometimes...all she had was her determination...Your dream will come true as long as you want it bad enough and keep at it, never give in nor give up.

If you could read my journal "I am blessed", my daughter encourages me all the time for excellence. Allow me to do the same to you!
