@SailorCross: Unfortunately, she still ended up being useless. Kishimoto is lame like that. He made her awesome for a few episodes, and then she ended up being a waste of time.

My buddy and I were talking about that today! We randomly got on the topic of eyepatches and how I wanted one for no reason and we'd go to Ardene to get one. They would sell them because the sparkly stuff would render our eye blind making it useless!
The eyepatch would be for covering up the eye's uselessness.
Hey, if you want to cover up all the useless things just put a paper bag over Sakura's head!

i get that she hurts naruto now and then (obviously, its just for comic relief)
but in part 1, she was obsessed with a emo jerk who didn't even didn't even like her in the first place

I don't see why many people hate on her
Of course she was useless in Naruto but shes improved a lot up until now
and calm down shes just a fictional character.
This is an opinion , everyone has their own role in Naruto if she was useless they would have killed her or removed her from the show.
Mostly Sakura haters are Hinata lovers. I don't see why a character should be named useless or important they were made the way the creator made them.

oh the reason why she's hated is quite simple to explain really
you see she represents the most noticeable high school cheer leader prom girl masses in our society that are simply unreasonable which make her a quite lousy female role model.
despite that she has hateful behavior...
she constantly brutally injures one of her team mates for no apparent reason what so ever (that alone i can't believe you don't consider hateful).
she is mindlessly infatuated with the school jerk without even so much as knowing him directly...
and the main reason people have a sort of repellence to her is because she is counter productive. (hence the poisonous luggage)
every single mission, she never actually attacks the enemy and keeps finding the lamest of excuses to be captured onto a hostage situation at any given moment(that or being unconscious for no reason). not only endangering the entirety of the team, they are now given something more to worry about despite the original mission they had to deal with already...
but that's not all... considering all that she has the luxury of complaining about the rest of the team's performance, when ironically, seconds before she was using her mouth to yell "Naruto" or "Sasuke" and "help me"

well yes i also didn't call her "useless" as you can see on my previous comment
i believe that the author needed a "poisonous luggage" on the team, an excuse to get the knights in shining armor to help the helpless damsel, it's actually quite overused everywhere but it is what the general public is attracted to...
ah yes but well you see, Hinata despite her fewer appearances, has done MORE than Sakura to HELP the rest of her team and even Naruto himself, despite how phobic and shy she is...
that and in my opinion,(despite her white cold eyes) shyness and cuteness is actually more attractive than brutal violence and complaining towards your companions ESPECIALLY when that someone serves as counter productive to the rest of the team.
so in short, no she is not useless, the author created her to have something to slow the team down and endanger them constantly without any of them noticing...
especially Naruto who, in his infinity small wisdom, doesn't catch a clue while still madly and blindly infatuated with someone who just isn't worth his time, and (i can't believe he didn't notice this) is brutally violent both verbally and especially PHYSICALLY towards him for no reason..
i'm sorry but that's not love...
and in fact her body language is spreading the unhealthy message "it's ok to hit boys for no reason"; "fall in love with the school jerk" and "get yourself in danger so that the one you "love" will come save you"...
that is simply bad conveyance and sorry but plainly put... bad female role-modeling
that especially guys hate.
toh and yes it is especially outraging that she only starts to pick up the pace now aand only ONCE! sorry but that is an overused excuse because the show is longer than just that Sasory part (by which an old lady contributed more than her once again)
