(note: im probably going to redraw her because there's so many anatomy mistakes that are getting on my nerves. This is also the first time I've ever drawn her in her full outfit so I am very pleased with how she came out. )

Onyx's ability enhances her senses; she can read her opponent's aura to determine how big of a threat they are, whether she will need to use force or not. She also uses her ability to weed out the people or gems who she let's get close to her. Despite having this ability, she took a chance with Mystic Topaz and her gamble paid off. Tope was very hard for her to read and this was the first and only instance her ability had failed her.

Stoic: Onyx' most prominent trait. She doesn't speak or express herself very often. When she is feeling a specific emotion she doesn't show it, she internalizes it. She believes showing emotions make a person or gem weak so she does not show any emotion.

Elegant: Onyx' movements are fluid and precise. She is exceedingly graceful without putting much thought into her movements at all. Her movements are comparable to that of a ballerina.

Blunt: When Onyx does speak, she doesn't speak with a filter. She tells it like it is and she often doesn't realize what she says can hurt people.

Mysterious: Paired with her stoic trait, Onyx is very hard to read. You can't tell what she's thinking, going to do, about to do, what she might say or not say. She's the type to disappear without a trace for day and then just reappear like nothing happened.

Authoritative: Along with her blunt trait, her tone never strays for authoritative. She has a very motherly tone but also that of a general. If she tells you to do something, you better do it right away or you'll have your hands full.

Onyx was born on homeworld. She was quick to climb the rungs of a military like branch in the gem army. She had her own platoon of underlings and participated in the great gem war. She was also in charge of covert missions as well. She was a well trusted gem during this point in her life. In the midst the war she was given the task of rounding up all the disobedient gems. She made her trips, collecting and delivering up to 5 gems at a time back to homeworld. Through the decades and centuries, she also began collecting gem shards. Unsure what to do with them, she kept them captive on her ship.

During a capture mission, Onyx and her platoon faced a powerful gem. Despite all the sacrifices, she lost her platoon and the gem. Broken and battered, Onyx collected her comrades; many of their gems had been shattered, a few were cracked, one retreated into their gem and is still healing during the present time. For the first time Onyx had no idea what to do. She spent a century floating above the earth debating on what she should do, she couldn't go back to homeworld after this failure but she couldn't reside on Earth, there were too many customs and too much character. Onyx became rapid and began going through her files on gems she had yet to capture. Mystic Topaz was on that list so she returned to earth to finish the job she started.
