Akeshi is a rowdy, rough housing stag who tends to have his intelligence underestimated. He's quick to laugh and always happy to spar with anyone interested. At first glance, he seems like nothing more than a brawler who enjoys a good brew and a good rut. He's loud, hearty, and not particularly subtle. But beneath his carousing exterior, lies a soul that delights in simple joys and the structure of military life. 'Order gives you freedom' is one of his life long mottos.
While he enjoys being a soldier and doing his duty to the herd, Akeshi has never had strong aspirations of climbing the ranks of military command. Leave it to someone else to be colonel, general or King! 'kesh is a veteran soldier who just wants to work border patrol and lock horns with nefarious Blackwoods. He's a simple soul with simple desires. To bash things.
In the past, that same lack of motivation that hobbled him from growing in rank was mirrored in his social life. Akeshi is friendly enough, and loyal to his fellow soldiers, but he didn't tend to make strong, close connections. The kind of stag who knows everyone, and who everyone knows, but not usually for more than a passing casual conversation. This extended to rutting as well - 'kesh never took more than 5 does, but doesn't tend to have many repeat ladies in his harem. He was good for a fun evening, and periodically checked up on his offspring, but not much more.
After his time separated from the herd, Akeshi has come to terms with his desire to strike up closer relationships. He is now looking for one or two permanent harem mates, and had begun to take a more active role in rearing his children and building deeper friendships.

History:
Born out of a soldier stag of Silverthorne and a reasonably quiet doe, Akeshi's life has been fairly typical within the herd. He knows his laws and his lore. He offers prayers when needed and he offers his body as well, whether that be through defense of the herd or participating in creating future generations of Silverthornes.
A solid, dependable soldier. Despite the restrictions in Silverthorne, 'kesh likes to fight! When not out on border patrol where he can put all that fighting blood thirst to good use, he loves to spar and train with other soldiers. Rut offers the only chance to truly test his mettle against other stags in the herd, and Akeshi relishes the opportunity, win or lose. He's fathered a fair number of foals over the years, but tends to satellite around their lives rather than feature in it strongly. Any child of his looking to learn how to fight is always welcome to seek him out for training, day or night.
When he was 10 years old, Akeshi discovered a wild hive of bees while practicing his magic. He realized that smoke from his fire made them sleepy and docile, allowing him to investigate their hive and collect honey. Instilled with a sense of wonder and curiosity never before felt from the experience, 'kesh decided to try keeping a tame hive. He has an incorrigible sweet tooth, which may have contributed towards his decision just a little bit. Using fire magic to scorch and shape wood into hives, smoke the bees, etc, Akeshi collects honey and continues to expand his operation. Occasionally he consults herbalists and does about what sorts of plants the bees might enjoy.
During a border patrol in Fall 765, Akeshi was badly wounded and separated from the herd. Lost, injured, and pursued by a possessed Ice Bear, Akeshi was driven away from the main Silverthorne territory and ended up along the Iron Hill coast. In the two seasons it took him to escape, survive and return to the herd, he is a much changed stag. Less the rough housing merry maker, and more of a quiet presence as he recovers from his various wounds. Akeshi is not on active duty while he recovers.
Once healed, Akeshi is accepting the rank of Lieutenant! He aims to train youngsters and fresh recruits on how to survive and be the best soldiers they can be.
