Ink and sharpies.Finally drew an OC!
For now her name's Catherine May, most people call her Reena May, but I'm very very indecisive about names so I might end up wanting to call her Bob or Fromage or something. Anyway. She's a character in a story idea I have where there are guilds of grim reapers and she's one of them. I'm thinking of writing it during the antebellum (heehee antebellum. that's a funny word.) of WWI so it could be steampunk-y except I know nothing about WWI so huh let's see how that turns out. Not sure if I'm gonna write the story or not because it just feels like something that would exist already, as a novel or a manga or an anime. So if someone knows whether or not something like this exists please tell me!
I messed up her proportions and yeah the arms and thighs are too long >< feel free to critique! I don't do costume/character designs very often so tear it apart. I could learn a lot from feedback and favourites are always much appreaciated. Btw I don't know much about the characters yet, gotta plan them out still!

I drew something reminiscent to this but nowhere as good. come check it out it's called Moon reaper and I know the hands are too big and the head is too small.

Pretty cool design, especially the scythe and coat. You might want to consider just making her stockings and sleeves solid without the lace-up detail: its more work and will be hard to keep consistent. (Which could be problematic if you end up drawing her a lot). I like the fitted bodice of her coat and the piping details. If you want to make it look more WWI era esque you could add another row of buttons and make it double-breasted.

It's probably gonna be a written story, not a drawn one. I just wanted to visualize some of my characters. Thanks for the advice! Yeah think I'll try changing it to double-breasted and see how that looks

Hee hee than you could make a really crazy design since you won't have to draw it often.

yeah that definitely helps! I started the sketches for the characters before I thought of a concrete backstory, and didn't change them a lot after I decided that it would be in that era.
