Yep, I can see the "Ahhh! Real Monsters!" Power Trio parallel here- Sulley as the not-so-smart slacker who doesn't give a rat's ass most of the time but occasionally comes up with this brilliant idea, Mike as the studious "book-smart" in-your-face know-it-all, and Randy as the nervous, shy, insecure dreamer/romantic/creative genius who has an unusual special talent to make himself truly terrifying when he really needs to be- Krumm, Oblina and Ickis, respectively!
I mean, REALLY on that last one-draw Randall's face looking straight ahead, then erase his fronds and replace them with two big, rabbity ears and tell me who he looks like! They both even wore big round glasses at first!

They should have been a trio in the first movie, instead of making Randall the villain. That would have been cooler.

I honestly refused to see MI in theaters because the trailers on tv made it look like a rip-off of A!RM!, which I absolutely LOVED. Turns out MI was quite different...but now, with MU, I can see more parallels, especially between young, insecure, tightly-wound-emotionally Randy and Ickis, whose issues stem from having a famous father who is seldom present in his life, too. Personality-wise, it's like Randy and Ickis could be twins. Maybe "The Great Slickis" has some serious explaining to do(MORE irony if that's the case, since Slickis speaks with a New Orleans accent)!

For some reason I was thinking it was a newer show, but once you told me it was around before the first MI came out, then I knew exactly what show you were talking about. lol
I never really watched it, but I have seen it before, glimpses actually when I was younger. I just didn't know what the name of the show was, until now of course.
