Surprisingly, Jannet hails from an upper class family where she is the middle child. In her youth she used to vie for attention all the time and hated her younger siblings for the attention they got over her. She was a regular troublemaker making things difficult both in and out of school.

Being the loudest and most rambunctious of her family got her the attention she wanted, but at the cost of her family not taking her too seriously. To this day she's still in contact with her family and loves them, but she mostly prefers being on her own away from them for longer periods of time.

Jannet realized early on she disliked all the mushy overly romantic garbage shoved in her face at a young age. She hated the idea of a big wedding to some random guy or girl, long kisses, and overly dramatic displays of affection. Many a guy and girl tried romancing her throughout her teen years with the answer always being 'no'.

Through this time she was taught the piano by her mother who was a pianist herself. While she was good at it thanks to years of practice it really wasn't a big passion of hers. Later in life she'd discover the keyboard, an instrument she had a much bigger interest and passion in since it was more versatile than a stationary grand piano.

Eventually she'd leave her family behind to head overseas in a strange city. There she met another woman a year older than her named Rea, whom she was briefly attracted to. Rea, however, is asexual and had no interest in the heron who couldn't care for the vulture's affections either. They settled for being friends instead. Jannet found out Rea is a drummer and the vulture found out the heron is a keyboardist.

The two played briefly in various small bands for either one gig session or for several months to an entire year. Seeking a permanent band for the two girls, a younger woman named Teal stumbled upon them to form a full band. After a few gigs to keep them afloat a woman named Nelinha offered them permanent residence at her. Lastly, the band finally got itself a guitarist in the form of Katherine, a rather depressive hawk the heron likes to tease for fun a bit.

Currently Jannet has a few friends with benefits relationships throughout the city, mostly with woman because she gets along with them better than men.
