Thanks! Yeah, they're cool. The smaller ones are actually more dangerous, with concentrated venom. They're somewhat related to Lobsters and Crayfish from what I heard in the past.

Smaller the claws, more potent the venom. Scorpions were also once aquatic, so yes, I suppose you could say they are somewhat related. They certainly looked similar to them:

Almost everything in Fallout catches you off guard if you're not paying attention. XD Radscorpions are a nasty surprise, though...

That's true.
The Radscorpion in particular, always makes me jump when they catch me off guard compared to most of the other enemies.
