Say hello to my childhood nightmare everybody!
I actually wanted to draw this for Halloween, but I wasn't able to catch up I guess, and then for a while I forgot to scan this... But here it is.

You wanna know something? Courage the Cowardly Dog never freaked me out; only when I was half-asleep, and I'm not sure how much that really counts. You know what did scare me? This f--kin' thing from VeggieTales! The Rumor Weed: a plant that grows from the spreading of rumors. Amazing, I know. The main reason it freaked me out was the animation. It was the 90s, so CG-animation wasn't at it's best and could look uncanny a times... And well, just look at it!! >> image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/vT…
Another big thing about the creep-factor was that it had teeth -- Flat teeth, like human teeth. It just seemed so unnatural... It probably would've been less creepy with sharp teeth, to be honest. In fact, the part of the whole episode that creeped my out the most was the part when the Rumor Weed comes into existence: It was this potted plant that fell on a phone line, and it was shocked by electricity. It fell to the ground, and then it slowly lifted it's eyeless head, looked right into the camera, and grinned.
That's another thing. It has dark glasses, but no eyes. It has this blank stare, like it has no soul.

I could've drawn the Rumor Weed when it was tinier, it didn't look that different though I like that design better, but I feel like it was the bigger version that really freaked me out. I remember a certain part where it beat up Larry Boy; it probably wasn't that bad in reality, but something about the dark atmosphere of the sewer (they were in the sewer, btw) and how he was beat-up off screen was really off-putting to my 6-year-old mind.

Well, now that I got all that outta my head... Hope you all enjoy my tribute to a childhood nightmare. (my literal childhood nightmare; it invaded my dreams.)

... Also there's this screenshot I found that actually kind of makes me laugh, the Rumor Weed here actually looks kinda derpy to me... but then Larry Boy there gives me flashbacks to that part I mentioned >> vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/v…
