Description This is NOT the devil! It's a krampus, a creature from the folklore of the alpine countries especially german folklore, and the opposite and companion of Saint Nicholas. While St. Nicholas rewards well-behaving children with gifts, the krampus punishs the missbehaving ones, especially the naughty ones, by hitting them with the rod or dragging them into the dark forest.
He appears as a beast-like, demonic creature with horns, hooves and a tail, in company with St. Nicholas in the night of the 5. December or in company with Perchta (like in the wild hunt) between 24th December and the 6th January.

As you may recognized i'm fascinated by the wild, horned and haired creatures from mythology, so i couldn't resist to draw him aswell.
black and white pencil on grey Craftpaper.

I hope you like him.

This is a wonderful peice of work. Its sad that most people only know about Krampus because of that horror movie.
