The Lovers bring a reminder that if one does not take control of his or her choices, one will be forced upon them by the wheel of destiny. The Lovers also represents sacrifice and that which is given up when a decision is finally made. Drawing the Lovers almost always means a choice will have to be made. This choice is usually of the variety that is between doing what "makes sense" and following your heart.
Reversed: In a reversed position the Lovers represents thoughtlessness in handling ones relationships with others and a lack of care when making crucial decisions regarding loved ones. Reversed the Lovers depicts being indecisive and leaving your freedom of choice up to chance.
