I normally start off my drawings with a sketch on paper, then i scan it and stretch it as big as i can in Photoshop CS6 on which i pirated online- shhh!
This was one of my first digital drawings where i did shadowing (or 'the burn' tool)- plus i forgot to have a bigger resolution for the drawing so that's why it's all pixelated!

well, it is an effective and easy tool for beginer digital artists. I would strongly recommend to try it out for yourself!
Microsoft Paint is very limited in effects and GIMP (another free art program) is very complex to understand at first.
