I realise I haven't uploaded this one here at all so I figure I should introduce the character. The original comment follows.--
So I was talking with my friend and the topic of what Fran's mum would look and act like came up. It was pretty much all just a series of off-the-cuff remarks, but the following day when I found myself bored I had a go at drawing her.
As you can see, she's more confident than Fran - most likely from her extra years of experience. I imagine she'd still be prone to the same mishaps and occassional clumsiness, though far less frequently and she could deal with it better.
So here's Fran's mother, currently unnamed, but I have a few ideas.

By the way...Is this meant to be a pic of Fran the viera from Final Fantasy 12? Or some other Fran and her mom? Either way it's still a fantastic picture!! ;D

Not at all, I've drawn them way too high. Not quite sure how I made that mistake, but I drew this back in February so that's my excuse

Great expression work and the image is really composed well. The linework is smoothly executed and the faint little lines in the ears really adds a subtle, sketchy feeling. Your hands are amazing and really look both cartoony, yet get the feeling of realistic hand gestures across. The shading is warm and its nice to see the subtle bits of color introduced for the different shades. The only thing I think would make this better is if it was a full body image.

Heh, well the funny thing is that the original drawing I did before coming up with her looked a bit like Babs. Weird thing is that I didn't notice until I was done colouring

Gotta love how Fran is being all shy and what not there. You did a very good job at capturing her shyness, especially with the way her arms are positioned and her facial expression. : )
Awesome job on the coloring as well; it looks very warm and well-toned. Nice job on the texture of their skirts, as well. Keep it up. : )

(I found it ironic that the advert just below your artist's comment was an advert for Brava and featured a close up of some huge boobs. Seeing Fran's Mum's shirt and then seeing that was funny.

I recommend the manga rather than the anime. I have the first dozen books in the manga series, and they're fun lightweight entertainment. I thought the anime was kind of... childish and annoying (by comparison).
