OH, MY GOD, DUDE!! THIS IS SO FREAKIN' AWESOME!! Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease color it some day, 'cause I would totally buy a print of it! In fact, this'd make an EXCELLENT poster....
As for a classic X-Guys poster, you need Wolverine, Colossus, Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, Archangel, Havok, Longshot, and Nightcrawler.

Ha, Yeah I'm going to try to fit in time to color it. Make it a print. Bring it to San Diego. Are U going to San Diego con? If I had to pick 8 essential X-men like this piece, I guess it would be Wolverine, Colossus, Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, Archangel, Nightcrawler and Professor X. But I really like Havok and Longshot. I'm torn.

Sadly, I don't think SDCC will make it onto this year's agenda. The wife and I are going to make NYCC a regular thing, though, so that's at least something to look forward to.
Your essential 8 X-Guys is tough to beat, but I've always been a fan of Havok and Longshot, especially when they hung out together in the 80s.

Cool. You mean all spikey? I haven't really looked at an x-men comic in years.
I still like his classic look. like when he was on the cartoons with spidey and firestar!

I like the fact that the costumes are mostly 80s period, which is when they seemed just a little more inventive (less campy than before, not so staid as what came later).

yeah, I'm into the 80's x-men. Haven't really read an X-men comic in a long time!

You are not missing a whole lot. It has sparks of brilliance from time to time (i.e when Grant Morrison was writing it) but visually it's been really stagnant for quite some time.

You're thinking of Sunspot. He was in New Mutants, and I think he was later in X-Force.

Yeah, the Japanese dude. He was an X-Man for all of, like, 5 seconds. Such a douche. Also, he may have the ugliest costume ever designed. And in the Marvel Universe, that's saying something!

Yeah! but, Sunfire quit after, like, one day. one mission. But that was like 30 years ago. Sunfire was cool but kindofa jerk. I bumped into some series a while ago, where he was back and he was friends with Rogue and he was lying in a hospital bed with his legs cut off. Lady Deathstrike cut his legs off. Sounds pretty weird.
