I drew a scene from my favorite level in METAL SLUG 3! The game has so much charm in every sprite and I love all the details! I always find things to admire whenever I play the series!I really wanted a Metal Slug poster but everything I found online didn't speak to me. SO I MADE MY OWN.

It truly is! The biggest problem for me was not having goals or a lesson plan since I'm not going to school.
I have a ton of art books and folders filled with "art tips", but I get easily overwhelmed because I don't know where to start.
EventuallyΒ I came across this list of recommended books and I decided to give them a read.

They gave me some structure in being self-taught and have made the learning process easier by giving me small goals.
I'm on the figure drawing portion as we speak. I attended some drawing classes recently while reading the books.
The books would give me land marks to look out for and I was able to spot them during class. Would highly recommend giving this a shot.

I would love to take more life drawing classes, but there isn't anything nearby where I live. At this point, that'd be the main thing for me to improve, I think. I need some friends who aren't shy. ^^

LOL! I know what you mean. Before finding my classesΒ I tried to get by with Line of Action but it only took me so far. I also got myself some figma models for cheap at Barnes & Noble but they can't do everything.
They're useful in helping me visualize certain poses though so I wouldn't count them out.Β I guess the closest I could get to figure drawing IRL would have to be www.youtube.com/channel/UCAZZ8β¦

The metal slug games are a blast. I'd never heard of the franchise until years ago when the Art Institute of Pittsburgh had it on an arcade machine. I ended up grinding that since you couldn't get near Marvel Vs Capcom next to it.

Haha, there's no way I could beat it on an arcade machine. But when I saw the anthology for the Wii, I just had to get it.
Definitely worth it, but I hate the Wii controls. (You have to shake the wiimote to launch a grenade!)
Luckily they let you use Gamecube controllers. And it comes with Metal Slug 1-6!
