High level water manipulation. Mainly used for healing, but can also be used in combat either with offensive shards laced with energy or protective barriers. When healing she can either use normal summoned water, or a type that is heavy with her personal energy. When in the second case it takes on a blue-greenish hue and has a pearly sheen, its healing abilities are far more effective.
Able to breathe underwater
Also has a decent knowledge base on herbal healing and medicines.
Mid level training in hand to hand combat. Her technique uses the opponent's force against them in twisting throws and glancing blocks. Also knows a decent amount of pressure point manipulation.

◊ History: Ondines, water sprites, have a belief that they are born without a 'soul' and the only way to obtain that soul is to mate with another race. The resulting child was considered to have half a soul and was generally taken care of by the other parent. As Ondines are fickle and whimsical creatures, they almost always lose interest and return to their watery homes of lakes, rivers, ponds, and waterfalls.
Naia was born as a pair of twins, the other being her brother Dorian.
Twins were an extremely rare thing to occur between Ondine and any other race and were always looked at with disdain. This was due to an old and rather strong superstition that such children were forced to split the half soul that they were given between them and so were nearly soulless themselves, yet they lacked the ability to gain a full one by normal Ondine beliefs as they were not fully water sprite.
Thanks to this, the twin's were ostracized by the Ondines that their father belonged to, and opposite of what usually happened, it was their mother that left first. For whatever reason, when the twins were about six or seven, she just upped and left, leaving the father to take care of their children.
Luckily their father was unlike most of his race and was far more levelheaded and dedicated. However, the belief about obtaining a soul when they reproduced was eventually proven false. Turns out the act of mating with another race grants the Ondine the ability to assume a more physical form as opposed to their naturally watery selves. Three years after his wife's departure, their father found himself forced to return to his waterfall home as the granted mortal form faded.
Effectively orphaned the twins quickly learned to take care of themselves, Dorian usually shouldering the more physical of tasks to ensure their survival as Naia was always more fragile.
Almost immediately after the return of the nations of Caelius and Ares, both siblings entered the Earthran army, quickly rising in rank to generals thanks to their very different yet just as dedicated ideals.

◊ Personality:
Appears to be a calm and confident woman, however if one gets to know her very well they will come to see that she is actually more than a little insecure and suffers from abandonment issues. She has done her best over the years to become stronger in these aspects but so far has not had much success, though is lucky to have a caring few around her that are always there for her no matter how week or troublesome she can be.
Is rather fragile in health, getting sick often or being slow to recover from wounds. Though she only admits these things grudgingly. Having grown up with Dorian who despised any form of weakness, she learned to hide her conditions or at least pretend she was fine even though its usually obvious as she can't act or lie very well.
Quiet and thoughtful, she is known to ask many questions about a person's heritage as she has always found the subject of cultures very interesting. If the war is ended peacefully, she believes it will be because everyone has come to understand one another more. However over the years she has matured and come to realize that a peaceful ending will be harder and harder to obtain the longer the war drags on, so she had stepped up her efforts in both peaceful and ware faring endeavors.
Lies are something she does not see the need for and will always try to reason with the person to be honest with themselves and others. Is a a horrible liar herself and even if she wanted to she wouldn't be able to convince anyone of something that wasn't true.
Honestly hates violence but has learned to cause her own measure from time to time if necessary. She had unfortunately learned that hesitating can get those close to you hurt or worse, something she is not willing to let happen if she can help it.
She is used to being made fun of for her ideals, as well as receiving mostly unwanted attention for her physical appearance (height aswell as chest size). She deals with these in a calm and understanding manner, though in no way finds in enjoyable.
Naia is always one to give the benefit of the doubt to those she meets, no matter their appearance or faction. Sometimes this can obviously lead to trouble, but she believes its better to be kind than to jump to prejudice conclusions.

Dorian Arethousa: Naia's twin brother. Their relationship had always been much closer than it should have been ever since they were little. However within the recent year or so they have separated somewhat into a more normal state of being siblings. They have an almost telepathic connection in the sense that they know when each other are near as well as their general state of emotions. They also can have conversations without actually saying much verbally. Naia is one of the few people that can keep him under control though sometimes, if he's being stuborn enough, not even then.

Alex Arethousa-Smith: Having fallen in love with him on an almost first-sight basis, Naia confessed these feelings to him and was ultimately rejected (numerous times). However after a long series of events Alex eventually admitted that he returned her feelings, though the subject of Dorian being his best friend continued to keep them apart. Over a year later they finally decided to be together despite Alex's and her own troubling pasts as well as the present concerns of the war and Order. Dorian eventually gave them his blessing on the condition that Alex bury his past and move on to be only and wholey with Naia. Alex eventually proposed and even though Naia was weary that she might soil his memories of his past wife, she of course accepted, too happy not to. It took a few years because of the Order and personal issues, but they are finally officially married. Alex even taking on her and Dorian's last name as a sign of their family bonds. Together with their three children, Neri, and the twins Klea and Leith, they really are as happy as they ever have been.

Neri Arethousa-Smith: Naia's biological daughter. She gave birth to the spunky girl right before the war started and for numerous reasons was forced to hide her away in a small remote village. Her main hope was to keep her safe. At least a few times a year, especially on the girl's birthday she would travel out to see her and developed a warm enough bond. Though never did she tell her of her liniage. After Neri's first home was destroyed by the war, she came to live with Alex's parents in Fahlenwood, both Naia and Alex visiting when they could. Eventually Naia decided it was for the best that Neri finally know the truth, even though she would have rather waited until she was a bit more old and able to hopefully understand her reasons for not keeping her.. and lying to her. As she had feared Neri was rightfully angry and it took a while for them to grow back together, but once they did it was fully. Her heart still melts when Neri chooses to call her 'mommy'.

Klea and Leith Arethousa-Smith: Twins, they are Alex and her children. Both her little angels. Klea obviously is more attached to her father, which hurts a bit, but she loves them both equally. The little girl is far more adventurous already than her brother; while Leith enjoys more stationary activities, especially making noise with various objects.

Goddess of Earthra Ivalina: Respects her very much and though she isn't as close to her as Dorian is, still is there for her and helps her in any possible way be it personal or professional.

General Aegle: Like a little sister to Naia. The two women share many things in common and have come to be quite close even though they don't see each other very often.

General Sandro: Naia's best friend for a rather long time. They both trust each other deeply and often go to each other for help or advice. Naia always does her best to encourage the necromancer to be true to himself. Even though Sandro doesn't remember her anymore she's still more than willing to help him, but at the same time isn't able to go all out to do so as she has more family responsibilites she has to place before putting herself in danger.

God of Ares Deamond: Has also known him for quite some time. Believes him to be a good person, if not a bit stubborn and arrogant.

Master Arlen: First having met the water dragon at his school when she and Dorian were only sixteen, Naia didn't think much about the tall, mysterious man. However years later she was invited back to the school though this time as a student. It became quickly apparent (at least to those around her ) that Arlen harbored deep affections for her. As far as Naia is concerned though, he is a great, fair and gentle man and is always grateful to him for helping her with her horrible health, especailly when she had been pregnant.
