You're right - the detail on this one is really nifty. The dimming of the blue stars actually works well in my eye, as that's very close to the way you sometimes see stars peeking through a nebula, but I'm definitely curious to see where you end up with metallic paints. My luck with scanning them has been mixed - the last really outstanding scan I had was using glitter-filled markers (Monkey Markers, water soluble inks, $.99 a pack of 12) and that was in aiming for white blowout (black on my inversion). Most of the rest of the times (silk-screens and paints) I've been unable to capture that the metallic element had a color to it.
The layers of wash here - I'm just blown away by the folds and overtones throughout the piece, particularly where soft and hard edges meet up. Both pieces in this pair knock me right over. Nice!

Yeah I agree...It might be hard to scan. Maybe taking a picture would be better. I have yet to buy the paints though... - _ -
Too many expenses at the moment. I might do w/o for a while until it becomes urgent. But I would like to experiment with metallic paints. I am sure it will add an interesting dimension to the work!
