Halloween is almost here and General Mills' Monsters Cereals are back on sale! We will see Count Chocula, Franken Berry, and Boo Berry once again. However, two certain monsters will not be returning. They are none other than Frute Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy. The werewolf and mummy were new additions to the Monster Cereal lineup at some point, but they were not as successful as the first three. Because of their fruity tasting cereals being discontinued, Count Chocula locked them away in the dungeon of his haunted house, never to sell another cereal again. The chocolate vampire couldn't stand competing against these two cereal mascot wannabes, and neither could the blue ghost or the clone of Franken Stein. So the count kept them hidden from the outside world and left them there to die. These short-lived fruit monsters had been reduced to has-beens and they deserve to come back. But they don't stand a chance against the one monster determined to outshine other monsters with his most popular cereal this spooky season. Statistically, out of the three monster-themed cereals, Count Chocula was considered the best. Is it any wonder why the count wanted to ensure that they remain missing year after year?
