It's 's birthday, and I wanted to make something special for her
We'd been planing the motive together, and I sure hope she's as happy with how it turned out as I am - I was a bit worried because Octavia is really big and reaches the edges of the stitchable fabric, but it worked out better then I thought ^^ The colors didn't turn out right on the photo though ...Done in cross stitch on a cotton-towel.
kindly gave me permission to use his Minecraft-Octavia as a reference, but I had to change quite a few things which just didn't look right without the 3D-effect Minecraft provides - and Mari didn't like the tail, so I had to re-do that, too. I think I'm ready to make my very own sprites for the next one, and I'm really excited to do so
This time I used 's cutie-mark to create the pattern for the cutiemark.

So cute. I've always wondered: what do the back of these towels look like? The backs of my pieces always come out so messy. How do you keep it nice?

Usually my backsides are pretty messy to (espacially with prepacked kits conversing floss is more important than having the back look nice), but with the towels I take great care to keep it clean - I never drag the floss across more than one empty square but rather use a new one, and I learned a neat little trick how to fasten the beginning and end without making a mess. Yes, but on the front, not on the backside. I kind of repeat the lower stitch of some of my crosses, then I do 2-3 knots on the back. Never had any loose threads this way
