Oddly enough this reminds me of my childhood. When I was little I used to make a faux restaurant setting at my grandparen't house and I called it Kay's Kafe....or something like that and this photo is dripping with nostalgia. You're wonderful at capturing and isolating little moments and places in time.

i'm always glad to take note of these great signs of the past, before they are all gone! this one is gone now: [link]

I, too, have many many signs in my collection. something about doing them with polaroid (which is in some wasy an anachronism as well) makes them more meaningful!

I'd have lunch there today, if I could.

i totally would have eaten there if we hadn't just eaten.

and thank you for that link! she's got some great stuff! i'm coming home to mo-town (or 'desta, as my friend michael and i like to call it ) for Xmas, and one of my goals is to go nuts with sign photos, while i can.

No problem...and yeah, I keep meaning to document all the signs in the Modesto area (the good ones of a certain era, I mean), but never get around to it. They vanish with each passing year.

sometimes i'm not too happy with low-light time-zero shots, but this one seemed to come out ok. i love to shoot low-light and overcast film shots often, though, because you're right--the colors really pop.
