School work I did ummm.. in October? I don't even remember anymore, but I was cleaning my usb memory sticks today and found the school works I have been doing during my exchange. And this was one of them, and I thought that maybe I should show it also for you C:

This is in fact my first school work I did during my exchange!
We had a one day project, and the topic for that project was "beginning".

While thinking what to draw for this project, I suddenly remembered the old Finnish national book "Kalevala". There's a story about how the world is created in Kalevala, and I thought that maybe I could use that story on my work C: And here's the result! Ilmatar and a bluebill, who laid seven eggs which created land, stars, moon, sun etc.

The technique we used for this work was a new one for me, but I really liked it!
We were told to make black lineart on one paper, and on other paper we had to make shadows or coloured black areas. After that we scanned first paper with lineart and changed the colour of the black lineart into magenta with printer and then printed the coloured lineart out.
Then we scanned the other paper with black colour areas, changed also the black colour this time into blue, and printed the colour areas on top of the lineart paper we had printed out before! This was so confusing process on the first time, but after realizing how it works I was so excited to work with this new technique!

I hope that when I go back to school in Kouvola, I can try this technique again with the printers we have in school. This was so fun to do!
