Again this year I was behind the T-shirt design for Hypecon anime, game and cosplay convention!This year Hypecon did have a "underwater secrets" theme! Hypecon's other graphic designer @sazzerzer created this mermaid look for Rieku (the mascot of the Hypecon convention) and I drew my version of it for the t-shirt!
The lineart is made traditionally with markers, and colouring digitally!

I can't express how much I like this picture, it has so many lovely details and yet it looks very simple... I love the coloring and shading, and Rieku's pale purple skin in this variant, for some reason. 8D

Thank you for the kind comment! It was super fun to draw Rieku as a mermaid :3 I haven't been drawing mermaids in a long while which has made me forget how fun it is! Maybe I should draw more mermaids in future?

My all art accounts (dA, Twitter, Instagram) are indeed super dead at the moment T__T Oh how I wish some peace, quiet and inspiration for drawing something new. Well, I hope that I get time for drawing soon!
We should both draw some mermaids then! I have already started to think my Inktober theme for this year (I'm a bit early with this heh), mermaids or ocean theme could be fun maybe? But let's see if I get other theme ideas for Inktober challenge :3 Are you going to do the Inktober challenge this year?

You mean that crazy challenge where you must finish a drawing every single day during the whole month? 8D
Well, last week I would have laughed my ass off just for thinking about such a thing, but this week I've done something almost as crazy as that: finished the lineart for two characters. For me it's unbelievable, and if this direction persists, it could actually be possible to participate the challenge too. We'll see, though I wonder what theme would allow me to draw so much different pictures... And if they will be very simple so that I could finish them in time every day, there's no point to publish one every day, but then the whole idea of drawing one a day would be pointless. Damn. xD
