great situation but the photo lacks "center of interest" for me. u need to pull the viewers eye somewhere particular at first !

I think the "center of interest" is very well defined here, but thank you.

Yes, I can see your point.. I guess you're a bit more of a "realist" than I am

Well, it's different when it's you taking a photo or seeing someone else's.

beautiful frame! it's a little tilted (like the camera was pointed down a little), but it is very nicely put together.

the straightening in photoshop scares me a little though

When I wrote "straightening" I meant horizontally, not "distortion correction". That I hate doing and I rarely ever use it but lens barrel distortion is my new trauma. I have come to notice even full frames present some (by seeing other artists photos), so I may learn to let that go.
My hometown's architecture is crooked by nature, add that to 17mm and voilà, nervous attack!
And you are right, I tend to tilt my camera down a bit. Another aspect I need to correct.
Thank you for your feedback!

that's what i thought you meant, but really couldn't be sure. yeah, distortion is a bitch as you go wider and wider. i would love a nice tilt-shift lens for architecture. 35mm works for me, although Simon seems to be having fun with 28mm

hmm, i thought it was pointed down, with you standing up. i'm just talking about keeping the vertical lines inside the frame parallel with the vertical lines of the frame itself. no biggie, just a thought.

I wasn't fully crouching, you are correct in your assumption.
I bought the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD IF and it's a really stunning leans for the price. Distortion is practically unnoticeable at 24mm, plus I can maintain the 2.8 aperture.

Oh, fuck! Tell me about it [link]
It's ridiculous, I love my USM 1.4 (despite being an unreliable lens) already but I have seen the last commemorative combo M9 + Noctilux collectors edition and I felt aroused. Then I wanted to punch someone.
It's a dream.
