They are a semi-open species now.
Group:
Introduction and RulesHello!
We'd like to welcome you to the Grotto. And give an extended thanks to those of you already here for sticking around.
This group is intended to be a mixture of an adopt group, and an RP group. We encourage you to interact with the other members and explore around the Grove and Grotto to find out everything we have hidden here.
Once everything is sorted out we will start quests up again as well as get some more lore and information out for your perusing.
And remember, if you ever want to find out about lore we haven't released yet, feel free to contact FuyusFox with your questions. The only rule, you're gonna have to Roleplay it out with one of the species leaders with your own character(s).
Now as far as the rules of the group go.
-When you join the group you are allowed 3 free common slots to make your own characters. These characters will always count towards your slots, even if traded away. So be certain you make them count. No Uncommo
Information - SpinnersThis is a Semi-Open species.
===========================================
The Basics:
Spinners are the descendants of Dawnweavers that have devoted themselves to the art of mind and spirit. They hold the element of soul.
Spinners are the only flightless species to live in the grotto. Rather than flying around with wings they scuttle across the ground and can even climb trees and walls with help from their extra limbs.
Each Spinner either has one or two sets of legs on their backs that can fold in or spread out at will, much like arms. These legs are good at gripping things and are actually pretty useful in everyday life.
Rather than having regular hair like the other species the Spinners' manes have evolved to a silky material over time. These manes actually grow pretty slowly, and they don't stay sticky for very long once they dry out. The only exception to this is those with a poisoned mane.
Silk of this variety stays wet as it is coa
Traits - SpinnersThis is a detailed list of traits for this species along with descriptions and examples.
*Note: actual examples will be made in the future, but in the interest of just getting this done previous adopts will be used for examples for the time being.
=Common
=Uncommon
=Rare
=Ultra Rare
=Legendary
Basics: Spinners are mid-sized compared to the other species. They have a thick and short fur that covers their body, but a patch of longer and thicker fur on their back. The thicker patch of fur is almost always a darker shade of their body color. On their head is a set of larger ears that are very sensitive to sound.
Their mane is made of silk, and they lack a tail. Where a tail would come from they are able to shoot out web to help them climb and get around.
Spinners will either have one or two sets of extra legs extending from their shoulderblades, pretty much where wings would attach

Man, I really need to update these old refs, lol.
At the moment if you join The-Breezie-Grotto you're allowed to make 3 free common MYOs. And they can be any of the main 5 species. (Wysp, Darter, Terran, Skimmer, or Spinner.)

Can I make one?
Also, I'm getting that their manes are made of silk, please correct me if thats not right, so would they have strand lines in their hair?

FuyusFox In reply to NiteTheUntalented [2017-01-08 22:35:39 +0000 UTC]
The silk manes act pretty much like regular manes, but are much shinier, softer, and maybe a little sticky if they've gotten wet.

Apologies for the late reply, but yes, free MYOs are allowed. Just make sure you're a part of The-Breezie-Grotto and when you post the design, submit it to the pending approval folder. Fuyu will let you know if they're approved and if they're not, what changes need to be made.
And yes, the hair is made of silk, so if you'd like to draw them with strand lines, go for it!

Sorry for the late reply, but go ahead! When you finish, just submit it to the 'Pending Approval' folder, and we'll either approve the design, or tell you what needs to be changed.

They can breed with other grottolings (Terrans, Wysps, Skimmers, Darters), but the child will be one of the species of the parents, not a half-breed.

That is actually who Parcel was based on.
The designs on the ref sheet are randomized, but we will go back and use them if we need an NPC or something so the design doesn't go to waste.

Are they any rules when it comes to the markings on a Spinner?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
FuyusFox In reply to Sn00zin [2016-09-12 03:10:37 +0000 UTC]
Spinner markings tend to not be extremely detailed. They will focus on leg tips, around the eyes, and on the ears in most cases.
