Description
The second image in my Phylogenesis series.I don't think I've ever been tormented by an image as much as I was by this one! In retrospect it was almost worth it, but I spent WAY too much time on this!
I wanted it to be perfect, because of the android/mannequin feel of the image, so every little detail had to be spot on. And I, being the detail obsessed idjit that I am, wanted it spot on!
So here we are, two weeks later, and I finally decided to upload it "mistakes" and all, before I cut my ear (or, Heaven forbid, some other appendage!) off in a fit of rage!
I hope all the frustrating hours I spent on this show and that you guys like it. I know it's a bit off-the-wall, but it's right up my alley and a genre that I am going to explore MUCH more in the new year, so watch this space!

Laurette has a great look for this kind of work. She seems to know how to work it just right...from the facial expression, to the tension in the neck...down to the relaxed draped feeling of her arms and hands. I'd definitely want to work with her. Not sure how if she had to take a lot of direction or just was able to wing it on her own. Absolutely love seeing you go in this direction....lots of creative madness to ensue I'm sure. The funny thing though is the fact you spend so long on this before releasing and because of it's post size we can not see for the life of us what took you so long. So all those little details you've been going insane over are completely lost to us (because of size). LMAO Ah, how I love thee. Great work per usual my friend.

The pose was my idea. It's been sitting in my head for some time and while this wasn't exactly the shoot I wanted to use it for, it worked out infinitely better than I could ever have hoped for!
That being said, Laurette is in my top 3 favorite models I've worked with! She was such a good sport, considering what we put her through and I had to give VERY little direction before she understood exactly what I wanted - a true sign of a professional model in my books! If I ever have to sit for four and a half hours while a make-up artist applies a bald-cap, she'll be my first choice
As for the details... yeah. Heheh, there's more under the hood than what you think. Maybe one day when you log onto Skype again, I'll show you

Well I'm loving it and I hope there is more to come?? Have you worked with Laurette before? I don't recognize her but that could also be because of all the makeup and skull cap too. lol And OMG, I don't think I could sit that long....hell as a photographer I would be beside myself with excitement waiting for her to be done. heh Nonetheless it's obvious you two work extremely well together so I look forward to seeing what you come up with next. Wish you did this full time, then I wouldn't have to wait. lol

I haven't worked with her before, nope. We'd been talking about shooting together for the best part of a year and when Zanel said that she wants to do a bald cap, I thought of Lau immediately, knowing that she'd be a good sport about it
I can't wait to work with her again. Hopefully she'll have a full head of hair this time

This is So uniquely cool Johann such a stoic expression and alien feel all Perfectly captured! She reminds me a bit of a character from Deep Space 9 the Shape shifter queen if you could call her that.
