Wow. This really shows Pinkie Pie's party going personality. The other pony has a funny reaction. The title really fits because Surprise is an alternative name. I think there was an early gen pony like that.

These were early versions of the designs, there aren't any mistakes.

Yep. That is an early version. Fluttershy was an earth pony in the early version. It is fitting since she is into nature.

Yup, indeed she was. I don't know for certain if this is true, but I think her first concept was a white colored pegasus with a yellow curly mane (same style as Pinkie's) named Surprise with 3 purple balloons as a cutiemark.
Edit: I just scrolled down, apparently Surprise was Pinkie's G1 counterpart.

Yeah.... while I LOVE Pinkie Pie as a Pegasus, primarily because Surprise is my favorite pony ever, I think Pegasus Fluttershy would have more character... Pinkie Pie, as a Pegasus, though... she may seem overpowered... but I think it would have been hilarious...

No, I'm all for whatever they do... I'm impatient over Sea Ponies appearing in the show; the recent returns of G1 weren't that great, especially the Smooze, but with Moondancer coming back in a good fashion, I believe there is still hope.
I really wish Sea Ponies were a part of the show from the start.

Fluttershy was an earth pony in the show's pitch bible, and had a flower talent rather than an animal one. Later on she stole Pinkie's wings. But instead of a reincarnation of Posey as Ponyville's resident FLOWER PONY, we got Fluttershy as an animal lover and got Roseluck, Flower Wishes, and Lilly Valley.
