The only thing missing from this is something about it being "brought to you by" or "sponsored by" Randolph and Mortimer Duke.

Thanks man I really do appreciate that.
What's funny is I thought the same thing when I saw the two pieces you entered. I was like "Goddammit! Why did he have to enter." Lol I don't expect to win anything, but I think you have a good chance at placing, so good luck!

I used the little girl piece cause how many judges look like me. Most of what I do is so culturally specific, certain contests the are just not geared for our point of view.

That was a wise choice Lol, and I sort of gathered that too after viewing it. I was also sort of surprised to see that you had painted it but it speaks well to your versatility as an artist.
They definitely aren't geared towards us, but also not towards originality in my view. They always say originality is one of the criteria being judged on, but the most cliche work seems to win most of the time, or at least in the past few contests that I've seen anyway.
My original idea was to live free in a world without money or any form of bank currency, credit or debt. It was going to be me with a golden sword which would have engraved upon it "Jesus Whipped The Money Changers"
In the background was going to be a many headed hydra with the dollar sign scarred in it's chest.
The Heads of the hydra were going to be the heads of the many elitist and puppet politicians around the world. The head facing me though about to be chopped off was going to of course be Obama's. Lol
Alas, I was convinced not to do this, but I think it would have been an awesome piece. So after about a week of trying to figure out what to do I finally settled upon what you see above, and like I said before I still don't expect to win, mainly because really it's only half a piece. It really needs the good guys to round it out. I also wanted to paint many of the supporting characters in there along with memorable scenes from the movies, but I came up with this idea too late to really flush it out the way I wanted to. I also think these movies aren't well known enough for anyone to care. Lol
I probably should have done Star Wars Seven or something. Lol

I so agree. I've never won, it doesn't mean I didn't enter contest though. Like you I observe my environment and speak on it. It is historic for artists to do so. I just come from the Paul Robeson school of thought...."Art created that is not directed at our freedom is a wast of time." (Paul speaking on how he uses his talents, which ultimately led to his being white balled,)A strong statement, however when taken in context, it makes sense to me. I have some work that would really alienate some folks. People don't want to be reminded of certain things and it is my job to "never forget"!!!! Walking around in the most hated skin means I know long standing social inequities. A contest like this would never reward a creative hard hitting piece that is coming from this prospective. Guys like Tiger will always get paid. Chuck D or Sister Soldier is a whole other ball of wax! Example...Will they arrest Tigers wife for her assault or is that only relegated to the Chris Browns and Lil Kims of the world? too many examples of this to list.
Peace brother!
Here is an example of how hard I can hit...View the 6th piece from the top. That is what my experience and knowledge of our walk in the US brings me to. Being able to drive an SUV is not a replacement for my God given sovereignty!

Wow dude! Very nice. You just have a very solid style.
Your totally right about the whole Tiger situation. Guys like him will always get paid but they eventually pay the price in some way. They always break them down once they get too popular or too good at what they do.
I mean, they are murdering this guy in the media. I bet he can feel the black in him now despite the fact that he he didn't want to claim his own heritage before.
And your right, the injustices and double standards are just to numerous to list. They act like the guy murdered someone. He simply cheated on his wife like all billionaires do. I personally don't see what the big deal is, but that's the media for you. Bankers can get away with stealing trillions of dollars, Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld can get away with crimes against humanity, but no all of that is not important. Tiger Fucking Woods cheated on his wife. Breaking news everybody.
It's ridiculous.
Also I totally agree about our God given sovereignty. Not only do we mistake our luxury for freedom, but many of us error in believing that our rights, and our freedoms are granted by government rather than God. Hell some people make government into God.

True dat. Michael Jackson's death was labeled murder and when was the last thing you heard on that? Tigers nordic wife is as much gold digger as the rest. she's pissed some one else is dipping in her treasure chest. I found this goodie.
Of course, if the reports are true, Woods and Nordegren's counseling sessions haven't been the only exchanges between the couple during their days in the spotlight. According to The Daily Beast, the two have renegotiated their prenuptial agreement. Under the original deal, Nordegren had to be married to Woods for 10 years in order to be eligible for a payout of $20 million, but now she is reportedly in line for $55 million if she stays with him for two more years; she is also said to have received an immediate $5 million payment. It's an unromantic view, perhaps, but as motivations for giving it another try go, that kind of sum could be more potent than anything a relationship guru could tap into -- in intensive sessions, or otherwise.
Huh? Yep. exactly, but she's in it for love.
He's a lifetime pay check.she used her pussy to get. On the flip side he is wrong for jeopardizing his family's health and safety. That is where the focus should be.Obviously he isn't happy, and she may not be the angel she will be treated as. To think being upset gives a woman the right to go upside a mans head is a very dangerous idea that may support men feeling justified in doing the same. Isn't this the age of female equality. By this part of the incident being kept so silent; it supports the argument of weaker sex. That in another instance will make a woman want to ....LOL...go upside your head.
Yo bruh I like your point of view. We should sit and build one day!!! Blessings.

It's been on hiatus for now until next year anyway. Still working out the new style for it.
I haven't been on aim in a long while mainly because my Main PC has been out of commission. I tried installing Windows Seven to no avail, and now my computer is screwed up I've been using my new Tablet PC to do my artwork on.

Actually I shot myself in the foot with my computer. I was trying to update to Windows 7 64bit. For some reason I couldn't get my graphics card to work and I started messing with updating my bios for my mother board. (BIG MISTAKE!) Now I have to get a new bios chip for my mother board. But oh well.
Yeah that will be the new style, it looks different because it's all digital. Before I was drawing it by hand, shading it, and then scanning it in and coloring it. Ahhh, too much work. Now I've gone completely paperless, and I've been using my new tablet PC. Muhahhahahahahahah!
I've been messing around with doing the backgrounds in 3D too. Once I finalize on a style, that should really save a lot of time in creating the book too, cause I won't have to draw and color backgrounds.

Dude I'm just letting my main computer marinate right now in its broken condition. I don't even want to think about fixing it till after the holidays.
Thanks for the compliments, but to be honest with you I still think I need a lot of practice.
I'm liking the all digital way a lot. It greatly helps speed up my work flow and definitely cuts down on expenses, for buying art supplies is a real bitch! I still don't think I'm completely comfortable with it yet, even though I've been messing with digital off and on for the last five years. Having the tablet pc definitely makes the experience more natural but it is still nothing like drawing and coloring on paper. The texture just isn't there, the trade off though is that everything you need is right there at your finger tips, no need to go to the art store and picking up new prisma color markers that cost almost $5.00 a piece. lol
My brother and I just started back on the art book. It was on hiatus for a while when his son was born. He had to work more but now that he is settled in we picked up production again. It's going to take just about all of next year to finish it up, so we are probably looking at mid year 2011 if we can find a publisher that is.
I see Madeline is coming along well and your doing a great job merging the Random Mode characters in the story line. Do you have any major plans for it next year?

Hahaha "Marinate" Yeah I know what you're saying, it's like life is bad enough then when you have to pull parts out and try a variation of things on them.
Well, don't be too hard on yourself either, a lot of people that make it don't do the job we do, so never feel it's "not enough" I thought it was great before (The Grocery) it will be even better now.
Yeah it is true, when you do something on paper, there is a level of physical CONTROL That is just lost in the digital translation, that being said, I have lost real life art to mistakes, which will NEVER happen digitally.
You'll find a publisher for the art book it was amazing stuff!
Madeline got set back a few pages because Random Mode was starting to "eat away" at the comic, it was like putting TOO much spice into cooking, I've got to ease him in so I reset 12 pages (11 now)
I'm going to make sure Madeline's world is expanded, I can't believe it IS a year of Madeline now- goddamn! Yeah I've got to start doing it twice a week too (no idea how) More then likely Madeline will have an adventure or two under her belt by then with more villains and more treasure. Right now, they just kind of hang out...
