the atmosphere colour looks kind of weird especially with the planets colour. The rings are quite nice, but they seem to be too close to the planet (The one supposedly going around closest to the viewer looks like it could spear right through the planet lol)

Its funny because i just recently realized that the rings were bizarre in this one and i had never noticed the purple or whatever in the atmosphere but that could be due to any number of things scientifically. Dont think ill ever get to changing this one but thanks for comment

I believe that you need to project a few shadows from the rings over the surface of the planet too.

Something about the rings looks off. I know from experience that making planet rings is like the hardest thing ever. But in this case it just looks like the perspective don't match up.
It might be the angle of the entire piece making it hard to tell, or it could be the angle of the rings themselves. Not sure, it just erks me. lol

You're welcome. I'm not very experienced with it neither, or else I'd offer some advice.

I agree with this observation, the ring is out of shape, it needs to be flattened more to make the perspective right. Good points; excellent angle, dramatic and picturesque.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was just me or not. Getting perspective right is one of the hardest things to do when you're looking for realism. IMO anyway.

From my angle, I can't see anything "wrong" with it. You probably know more about it than I, so I suggest you keep doing what you are doing and improving on your technique.

Well, uh... The lens flare could use a bit more work.

Kimhoyer [2011-08-21 19:52:03 +0000 UTC]

Well, the only advice I can give is a suggestion add some different colours to the lands masses to give it that different bio spheres feel that earth has.

I attached a like to an image at NASA to show you what I mean.
