the shadow map doesn't give you the feeling that those are the caustics from that refraction... the light streaks are coming from many directions too, i think it will look better with a single direction and with the projected map or shadow map closer to the opbject. Also a scene or a composition with a photo might help coz u'll have many colors refracted now u just have the blue and it is hard to get the feeling of ice. Ice is reflective too, so i sugest u put a few white planes or bright cards around(to simulate the highlights) and make the ice more reflective.

This is very nice however it would even be more "cold" if you would add some cold damp, fog or whatever you call it.
