People think it's a cheap weapon, as in easier kills, like the back burner. As a soldier, you dish out a ton of damage, but that makes you a big target, not to mention any damage you do to yourself due to rocket jumps, gunboats or not. With the black box basically being your medic in a box, a soldier can aim for ambushes and sneaky air strikes to take his enemy by surprise, and get some healing if his target gathers their senses and retaliates.

Maybe... But when you think about it, it's the scouts, snipers, and enforcer spies that are overused. At least from what I've seen.
