"Warship Voyager" would have been a perfect MU, but like 75% of the episodes that were acent, it never actually happened.

Yeah, Paramount really dropped the ball bringing back the Mirror Universe. They emasculated the Terran Empire. If the Federation is still around so should the Empire. That's kinda the entire point to a MIRROR universe. The Tholians and Cardassians were STILL evil when they should have been peaceful explorers.
Worst part of all was them turning it into a cheap RESET button to either kill a character in the regular universe or bring back a dead character (Sometimes so they could kill him AGAIN) without any real consequences to the regular storyline.
One of the only good things about ENTERPRISE was it's MU episdoes. It was still a cheap reset button, but at least it proved TOS designs could still work with today's high def filmaking technologies.

The MU are kind of 'coward' episodes, like you said, they gave them the opportunity to play with the 'what if?' option without changing the main plot line of the series. Anyway, I have always thought that, despite having great and deep episodes, a lot of them are poorly, or directly terribly writing wasting lots of opportunities.

Have the DS9 and ENT MU be the MU of the JJ Verse, and this be the TRUE Terran Empire Kirk & the gang originally visited. Personally Id rather have Forst Contact and ENT be the pre-history of the JJ Verse since they pretty much ignored continuity anyway

You miss the point. It's been done before. Numerous times.
There are other ways to scar without re-hashing a tired, old cliche. You aren't being innovative. Doesn't matter how key it is to the story. An overused meme is still overused.
