Full View!this is my entry for 's contest entitled 'whistling in the dark'
i took the contest title literally and came up with this! this piece was quite rushed, i only spent about 40 mins as i am not in the right frame of mind today!

if anything id say the white 'whistle' is a little 'off'. maybe i think it's too bright or just a little big. i know that's a really personal and strange crit to make. i hope you don't mind.

Here is the constructive critique you wanted:
I would say first don't rely on black for contrast as it makes and image become flat but instead just use dark values of color. The composition could use a little work as it is lacking a little balance. I use the triangle rule which was used by the masters and which in part I judge a pictureβs composition by, as well as contrast, color use and over all creativity. The rule follows that you have 3 parts, figures, objects, or elements that create more or less a right or isometric triangle. It is a little bit like playing connect the dot with an imaginary line and the parts of the picture being the dots, no actual line is drawn. This triangle can be repeated many time over and over again for increasing complex pictures but with a strong composition. Other triangles can be used but cause a weaker composition. I would suggest have notes heading out and away from her in a V type pattern either to each side or to one side but heading out to the corners. This would help the golden triangle. This is an interesting concept and selection look pretty clean.
