Description This is a pretty famous spot for taking pictures on Lake Biwa, Japan. Obviously it looks towards the west across the lake, and is just really pretty.

In the move from my old computer to my new computer I lost a bunch of original files, fortunately I made some prints of the shots for fun, so I had to take a picture of the print. Anyways, the quality and color is down because it's a shot of a print, but it's still pretty damn close.

Thank you! The color is much more subdued than it should be because it's a shot of a print I had made, after losing the digital original. I'm glad you liked it though!

Sometimes it doesn't actually take a lot of skill to get a great shot. Things just fall in place.

This is an absolutely phenomenal shot, the lighting, the tree silhouette. It's just perfect. When you think that this is a photo of a print, you realize how beautiful a shot this is!

Very well done!

Well thanks so much! I'm so so on the outcome. I really wish I had the digital file, because the color was MUCH better.

Yes, I can imagine. But be happy you didn't completely lose it.

Ouch I know that feeling - I may be about to lose my puter and potentially a couple months' worth of art in it myself. My half-brother has it now, in the hopes of sorting out its weirdness (Boot-up problems, etc).

I'll be interesting to see how my data makes it out but that sinking feeling is just not good.

Also - gorgeous picture for it being a supposedly lower-quality piece! The colors are beautiful, and I love the compositional quality of it. This thing looks like a postcard, so I'm amazed you managed to get that kind of punch out of a photograph.

Haha. There is supposed to be really not a lot of blue, and the orange at the top should be a LOT fiercer. It's not really the same shot as the print, color wise, but my camera is nice enough that it passes as a scan. So ultimately I'm happy.

Well that's good.

And it sounds like your original file version was pretty cool. You could always try to save a copy of this and tweak it to look a bit more like the original in, say, Photoshop or somesuch.
