This image has a strong impact. I think that your decision to have shallow depth of field is what really makes this a winner. The details of the flower, with its vibrant colors against a muted (but still rich in color and recognizable) background immediately catch the eye.
The overall composition is good. You cropped the elements well, not making it awkward where you placed the flower in the frame. It is sitting on the edge, slightly bleeding out, but anchored enough to keep us looking into the frame instead of wondering what is outside. Being in the corner, my eye goes from it in a diagonal toward the rest of the image, landing on the tall building. It is very well balanced...both elements on the edge are strong and of near equal visual weight: the flower being so bright and detailed and the building, though fading, being so large on the frame.
Also, there is the idea of nature versus man-made things. I'm not sure if you were trying to convey that, but it is well done and nice to see a single flower outside of a garden.
