Description Jennifer Connelly as Sarah in the 1986 movie Labyrinth. It seems like every scene in that movie has so much attention to detail - this shot, for example, is only a few seconds long but I loved the pointing fingers of this "signpost" in the maze.

At full view, this is pretty darn close to actual size. Maybe just slightly smaller.

Watercolor painting on arches something or other paper. I'm just a beginner at watercolor, so be gentle -I know it's not perfect

Actually I think you did quite a good job with the watercolor.

I call it the "I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing-just-go-for-it!" technique

I think I would spend my life in that labyrinth and I would get to nowhere (my sense of direction is like zero)

Haha oh I definitely can related to that. . . I think I would have tried to climb the walls and walk along the tops myself, but that's just me

Love the details on the walls! Sarah's face looks a little narrow, but that can partially be attributed to the angle I think. Perfect expression of course. I just love the detail in those "signs" though! Even knowing the film so well, I half expect them to start moving.

Haha! Yeah I know, I think I made a few mistakes on Sarah's face Good 'ol, unforgiving watercolors!! But I'm glad you like it!!! The hands were fun to do, things that like where blocks of shading do the defining are really fun to paint, because when you get it right the result is always great to look at!!
