I finished this a few days ago but forgot to post it ASDFGDSBasically, these fuckers are you beautiful but also, so creepy. Like, as far as I'm aware, they're the only cannibalistic dragons in the HTTYD universe, and THAT'S FREAKY.

I do remember the first ever episode that showed the death song, the gang saved a bunch of dragons from being eaten, but in the end, it would've been pointless since the Death Song continues to need food. It could just go hunting dragons again, since nothing is stopping it from doing so. But it'd make sense for it to be able to eat fish too, cause there's no telling how successful a hunt could be.

The first Death Song episode wasn't good imo. I totally agree on that whole pointlessness aspect. It's like when people try to save a prey animal from being attacked by a predator. It's a lose lose situation because the prey will likely die anyway if it's injured enough, and the predator will just go hungry and will have lost precious energy for no reason. Plus I kind've have a pet peeve when it comes to unnecessarily interfering with nature. I feel like the episode should have focused on maybe one dragon that got captured (not one of the gang's dragons) and they're trying to save it, but eventually they realise it's not fair to deprive the Death Song of food it caught fair and square, because that's nature for you, my dude.

Exactly. >.< Just let nature go its way, people. There's also Garff, and if I remember correctly, he also tried to prey on other dragons, but the riders kept stopping him. That'd also force him to eat fish or something else to survive.

That's true haha. Predators in general always seem more visually pleasing to look at then prey. I mean, look at tigers, wolves etc. All gorgeous creatures.
