This boy is now officially named Ferdinand as of the 18th of March, 2020!

This boy has been approved as of the 6th of February, 2020!

It has been a little while since I have taken up a short design challenge~ This one was for the now-closed Snail Tails MYO Event that was released to celebrate the re-launch of the species.
I already had a few ideas in mind, and having him sketched and outlined only took a day or so due to that forward planning. There was a bit of a bump in the process when it came to choosing his colour palette; I had hoped for a cool colour palette for his general body and wings, with two to three much more saturated coloures for his tail, pawpads and tongue to balance those colours. Overall, I am quite happy with his final design!
The snail tail anatomy in general did present a few challenges - such as the overall 'chunky' body features and the mouth/jaw shape - but they were very enjoyable to work around!
I also attempted a new trick with the textures on his features~ This texture was inspired by TaigaNoTengoku 's artwork here of my baby, Freya: fav.me/db5jcjb !

Fingers crossed that this boy is approved!
Am also hoping to enter the Great Dragon Trek event for this month, but we'll see how we go as I still have a few more owed artworks that I'd like to complete before I return to my studies for the year...
