Description
  Bjarne's show is fairly simple, but it rides on one simple thing: The blades strapped to his paws. Part of his costume, the crafter hand made and evenly sharpened them, ensuring they were delicate enough not to encumber his movements, but sturdy enough to carry his weight and glide across the ice unlike any creature with bare paws. Is it stupid to put blades on all of your limbs? Perhaps.

  With Quicken Step and Slow Fall sustained, more for the flair of his auma than their respective uses, he sets forth upon the ice after days of practice. Twisting and scoring the ice, his movements are careful and simple, but the speed in which the blades he delicately created carries his bulk through his movements is the part he tries to convey as impressive. The metal shreds thin shavings off the surface of the ice as another sharp corner is taken, and another spinning stop.

  Within the frantic and near wild movements, Bjarne does attempt a show at a story. Where he fails elegant moves, he makes up for with powerful and confident strides, that of a commander of sort. A far departure from his typical demure attitude, but that is the point of the display. This is not Bjarne, but some unnamed and powerful cat, one worthy of wielding four blades, worthy to hold the power and speed that they offer.

  Though, starting off strong, he grows weak through the performance, starting to slip of the pedestals of the blades, tripping over their jutting edges, and even catching his long scarf within them, tearing its edges. But, he continues to stand again and again, chest heaving and expression falling.

  This time, he trips, and the back blade falls off, the wrappings tugged undone by Bjarne's own mouth. He skates on, keeping the one paw from the freezing ground. But, another blade falls off, the front opposing side. He cannot help as the bare paws touch the ground, trying to catch his balance. But each time the paws hit the ground, it seems he is hurt by it.

  Weak, tired, the final leap comes. With only two paws to use, he spins and spins, gaining speed until finally, he pushes off of the ice, flying through the air as the final blades break free, and suddenly, the old tom is thrown back to the ground, limp body sliding against the ice amidst his destroyed craft.

  Was just a show though! Bjarne made sure to create the skating shoes with their inevitable demise in mind. With just a tug on a hidden string under the wraps, the knots keeping them on his feet would come undone, and the blade would be sent skittering against the ice in a dramatic display. He used that to convey a story of a mighty tom that despite continuing to fight, loses his power, and eventually dies.

Not the most creative story, but he put most of his focus on the little knife shoes.

He uses Crafting as his skill check seeing as making the fancy shoes was what he found most important.

SKATING SHOW
"We have materials and Crafters ready. Design an outfit and put on a show!”

The lake in southern Haven has frozen over, and cats are flocking to the area to put on an ice skating show. Materials are provided for your character to create an outfit of their choice to wear during their performance. The cat with the most interesting costume and routine will win the grand prize.

Your submission should both feature the costume or outfit your character has put together as well as a description of the type of show they’re putting on. Are they telling a story through their choreography? Is their skating meant to evoke emotion?

Requirements: 1 submission to the Winterfest folder and a choice of skill check made, with explanation as to how the character uses the skill in their performance.
