I think people saying "It's art and anyone who's uncomfortable with it can screw off" are completely missing the picture, and/or choosing to. The amount of graphic imagery and sexual content little girls are portrayed in on the internet has made us more aware and sensitive about it.Β Β Even if it is is not intended to be sexual or disruptive, it can attract attention from people who think otherwise. allot of this imagery is concerning and usually subliminal to explicit content.Β Β

I'm not saying that at all. I understand what you mean, but no one said that kids weren't allowed to be seen. However, a professional child's modeling agency for clothing is a much more appropriate area for child modeling. As much as I'd like it not to be true, this website is very far from normal, along with it's majority of users. Personally, when I see child modeling on DA, the first thing I think of is the vulnerability these pictures gain when they're exposed on a website where it's normal for fetish disasters. I don't think it's any problem of child photography, but rather the context it's put in. As your example, a woman walking through a red district would likely be harassed allot more than a woman walking through a more friendly area. This still does not make it the woman's fault in the slightest, but it's a cold truth we live in. The people who say it's disgusting are talking about what will happen with the picture, not the picture itself. The people who say the picture itself are wrong, yes. Are you serious? All children's photos should be "banned from DeviantArt" because "there is no need for them to be seen"?
