I theorize that, in spite of how oblivious Phineas acts, he just sorta...assumed that he and Isabella would get together and stuff. This is why he didn't say anything about him and Isabella being alone in the City of Love - emphasis on how he mentioned "a boy, a girl, ALONE in the City of Love". Which they both were. Indicating that either Phineas doesn't consider Isabella a girl (which he clearly does), or he assumed that them being alone together was enough. He's oblivious, not an idiot, and I doubt it took him till highschool to actually form feelings. Just figured them out at that point and stuff, lol

That would be really cute if it were true! It would almost be as though he was in an early romantic stage of loving her where all he needed to be happy was to be by her side... which put Night of the Living Pharmacists into a whole new ADORABLE picture! ^.^

Yes, exactly! Because this means that Phineas was not just terrified of her being out there, but he was also scared that he would lose the person he was just starting to love...

That poor, sweet oblivious child, he only wanted to save the person he cares for the most, how dare that episode do that to him! Like, he didn't react that way to anyone else - he didn't bear in mind that Candace was in that apocalypse or anything, or even PERRY, he was concerned for Isabella SPECIFICALLY. He did flip out when Candace got turned, and fell into a depressive state when Ferb got turned, but he was SO AFRAID of seeing Isabella get turned that he sacrificed himself to save her.

And because Isabella's the last one to get turned, we NEVER see how Phineas would've reacted if he saw that. And given the buildup, we can ONLY assume that Phineas might not have been able to save everyone if he witnessed that. He probably would've lost it.

I can only imagine how Phineas was feeling when he saw Isabella was okay, went over to embrace her, and then she was all like "there's no time, we've got a job to do". That look of betrayal on his face - that was so sad. He had a MENTAL BREAKDOWN for her, and she just pushed him aside.

I know it was for a good reason, but seriously, they should've kept the hug in that episode, he NEEDS hugs. And I can only imagine what Isabella went through for such a resolve to hit her that hard that she pushed the boy of her affections away for this situation. How many of her friends and family did she see get turned while she stuck it out alone? What did she SEE when she was figuring out how the infestation started?

Yeah.... I feel like the stress that Phineas was going through when Isabella went missing was something that-provided Isabella had allowed him the relief of seeing her, instead of moving immediately towards another stressor- could have potentially sparked Phineas to realize his feelings for Isabella YEARS earlier... and the heartbreak he expresses when she refuses him... It is probably sappy of me to think that one of the reasons Phineas was so sure she wasn’t into him was that? Because it seemed to Phineas that she didn’t care that they were both safe after not knowing if either of them were zombies yet... it might have hardened his head and made it so that he refused to acknowledge his growing feelings until high school when he realized-the feelings were too strong. And he couldn’t ignore them.. it’s a really stupid theory but... 😅

I would have loved to see how things would have turned out if Isabella did receive Phineas’s hug, and they both had a moment to relax... I mean... it has to mean something that Phineas was just as devastated(if not more so) at the idea of Isabella getting taken than when Ferb WAS taken... That has to mean SOMETHING! >.<
