Description Nightshade felt cold as she woke up in the snow, though she just fell asleep in her burrow. She felt more awake as she stood up in the snow, the ground was covered with the white. The doe looked around as she hopped through the winter forest.

"Nightshade." A deep and rough voice was calling to her.

Nightshade stopped and listened as she looked all around herself. No one was there, no elil, no rabbits, no nothing. Only the fog and snow were around her along with a few trees giving her cover and company.

"Who's there?! Hazel?! Bigwig?! Kehaar?! Who else is here?!" The dark furred doe started to back up until she bumped into something behind her. She jumped back and turned to see a terrifying sight.

There before her was the vision of death, disease, and fear to all rabbits alive, even Woundwart. It made kits shiver and curl into their mother's comfort whenever his name is spoken. His red eyes boring into her golden ones, as they glowed with blood red smoke as the fog thinned.

The Black Rabbit of Inle.

Nightshade didn't show here fear as she puffed up her chest and narrowed her eyes. "If you're here to take my life while I sleep, you won't get it without a fight."

"I did not come to take you to join my Owsla. I came to speak with you, Nightshade." His voice while it sounded gentle, was hard to believe as its roughness was like grating stones.

The doe only snarled as she stomped her feet. "Why? Why would you talk to me now, when you had the chance to speak with me after I fought that lendri?"

The rabbit of death never blinked as he spoke. "You needed to live, to help those in Efrafa. Woundwart has sent many innocent to my Owsla, and even Frith could not bear it anymore. Besides, I had personal reasons to let you live as well."

"'Personal reasons'? What personal reason would you allow me to live after bleeding and fighting so much?!"

Nightshade shot up and her breathing was heavy as Bigwig grumbled as he woke up beside her. "Nightshade, you alright?"

"Wake everyone up. I got a message, from Inle." Bigwig was quick to have everyone gathered in the Honeycomb as some of them yawned in exhaustion.

Hawkbit was the first to say something. "Please tell me this is a drill, and we can go back to sleep."

Pipkin yawned and leaned on Nightshade as he was still tired, so the doe nudged him. "Pipkin, you can go back to your burrow." The young buck nodded and hopped off to his bed.

Hazel looked to Nightshade and Bigwig. "What's this about, you two?"

Bigwig answered as Nightshade took a deep breath. "Nightshade says she got a message from Inle. Though, I don't know if the messenger of the Black Rabbit would-."

"It wasn't a messenger; it was the Black Rabbit himself." This made the warren quieter than a field mouse in a pillow factory. Nightshade continued as everyone listened. "He told me that he kept me alive after my fight with the lendri for a personal reason. I asked him why, and his answer scared me awake. I'm just glad Bigwig brought me out of shock before I went tharn."

Fiver blinked and then asked, "What was his answer?"

What Nightshade said next made every rabbit in the warren freeze in shock. It was so disturbing and horrifying that the doe nearly thought everyone went tharn themselves.

"I'm his daughter."
