Charlie ushered Spike into her room as she took out a first aid kit. "Spike, I need to take care or your broken ribs. Could you take off your shirt?"

Spike took a breath and sat on her bed with her back facing the older woman, she took off her shirt to reveal multiple scars on her back. The worst one of all was going down her spine. The sight made Charlie drop the aid kit.

"Spike, what are these?"

The teen took a deep breath and clutched her shirt in her left hand, while her right stabilized her. "They needed a way to get the chemicals they used deep into my nervous system. So, the white coats strapped me down and cut me open from the back."

Charlie listened as Spike explained more. "They used something to temporarily paralyze me, instead of putting me to sleep. I felt everything they did. Even putting a tracking device under my skin, I ripped it out when they left the room."

Spike looked over to Charlie. "I don't know what's crazier. That those scientists want to kill me now, or that sometimes, I just want to let them run a scalpel through my heart?"

She sighed turning her head away. "I wasn't raised to be a normal person. I was raised to be a weapon, a monster."
