My sister recently did this challenge to draw characters as if they were "painted" with Neopets paint brushes, and I jumped at the chance for a challenge like that. I made 10 total, and half were colored traditionally, like Starscream here; the rest will be colored digitally later.ΒHe's one of two who are aware of their new paint jobs. X3
(Starscream and Transformers Armada belong to Hasbro and Takara.)

It's also pretty nice to use color pencils for certain touch ups.

I use them sometimes, if I think I can get away with it. I prefer digital colors but that takes longer

That's all good right there. I feel comfortable using traditional means of coloring and only resort to digital coloring for emergency.
